Fujifilm has announced the release of its new 40.2MP X-H2 mirrorless camera system. As promised earlier this year, this new X-series camera features a high-resolution X-Trans sensor and Fujifilm’s latest image processor, the X-Processor 5, to make it the first APS-C camera to offer internal 8K/30 ProRes capture.

At the heart of the X-H2 is the X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, Fujifilm’s highest-resolution X-Trans sensor to date and the first to offer Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function (20 shots stitched using external software). The sensor also has a base sensitivity of ISO 125 and the electronic shutter speed has been improved by 2.5 stops to 1/180,000 of a second.
