Nong Khai railway station is located 623.58 km from Bangkok Railway Station and 1.5km from the border with the Laos. It’s the terminus of the northeastern railway line from Bangkok, via Khon Kaen and Udon Thani.
The city is best known for the hundreds of crab-eating macaques that live in the middle of the city, especially around the Khmer temple, Prang Sam Yod and a Khmer shrine, Sarn Phra Karn.
